Dutch beginnings

A few music groups outside of Hungary participated in the Helikon Festival in 2004 for the first time in the history of the Festivals. They came from the Hengelose Muziekschool (School of Music Hengelo). The Hengelose Muziekschool is a central teaching organization of music in Hengelo and in its neighbouring communities. One of Hengelo’s neighbour city is Delden, Hof van Twente, which is the partner-city of Keszthely, where the Helikon Festivals are organized. The organizing committee invited a few music groups to visit the festival. It became a big success: not only won the Dutch groups many prices, the contacts between the Dutch and Hungarion young people run smooth and warm from the very beginning.
